Whiskers Catnip Cottage

We adopted our sweet girl from Whiskers Animal Rescue via Petsmart in Columbus, and it was a fantastic experience. I heard back very quickly after applying and was arranging to pick up Phoebe within the week, with all of her medical information and chip information ready to go. She is still settling into her new home (the recent thunderstorms haven’t helped), but we are already starting to see her personality shine through (true to a tortie, she’s a little feisty but she is incredibly sweet and gets chattier every day). We’re so thankful we stopped in and saw our little mama cat, and so thankful Whiskers gave her a chance at a better life (because she is already being spoiled).

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. When I moved to the area, this place quickly became my little weekend escape. It gave me somewhere peaceful to go where I could spend time with cats while also meeting some of the kindest people. I looked forward to every visit, and it’s something I’m truly going to miss now that I’m moving away. The staff and volunteers are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about both the cats and the people who walk through the door. I especially have to give a huge shoutout to Julie. She truly took me under her wing from the very beginning and always made me feel so welcome. She is one of the kindest, most understanding people I’ve ever met. You can tell how deeply she cares about every single cat, and she was always happy to answer questions, chat, and make everyone feel at home. She made such a positive impact on my experience, and I’ll always be grateful for her kindness. The cottage itself is always clean and the cats are clearly very well cared for. There’s a variety in ages, shapes, sizes, colors, etc. They have plenty of toys, food, fresh water, cozy places to sleep, and their litter boxes are tucked away so they don’t

This place is fantastic! We played with the kitties for close to an hour. The people were so nice! It’s very clean and the cats are very well taken care of. This is a great program and place to find a new baby (or babies) to love! We highly recommend making an appointment and spending some time playing and snuggling, or volunteering.

Had the best experience with my partner here. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and we were the only two people in the lounge. I didn't make it through the door before I was greeted by 3 kitties. The atmosphere was super relaxing and bright, the cats were friendly. The timing was relaxed and we didn't feel rushed at all and didn't have to wait since we were the only ones as well. I will definitely come back when next time I'm around the Columbus area.

Julie and the rest of the team at the Catnip Cottage are phenomenal. They truly deeply LOVE these cats and what they do! They know their cats well and want to give them the perfect home, so they work hard to find the right fit and make sure things work out for everyone. I just adopted a cutie named Ozzy from them and he’s been struggling to adjust, so Julie came all the way out to our apartment herself to provide some familiar comfort and coax him to eat and it worked. The adoption process was easy and speedy. Also, just a fun place to chill with some really adorable kitties! Highly highly recommend working with them :) Please donate, they do awesome work here!
